Gaylesta has a long history of involvement in political and social causes to further equality for LGBT individuals and families. This includes writing an amicus brief for the Prop8 court case; working with state and national organizations to promote better cultural sensitivity in therapy treatment for LGBT individuals and families; and working to debunk lies about Sexual Orientation Change Efforts (SOCE), sometimes called sexual conversion therapy; this treatment is ineffective, unethical, and harmful.
